Overview

Set in an elevated position in Dwygyfylchi, on the edge of Penmaenmawr, this one-bedroom period cottage sleeps two. Sea and mountain views, a garden and characterful interiors make it an inviting base for exploring the North Wales coast and Eryri National Park.

Cats are welcome, and the setting suits couples or two friends looking to combine beach walks, historic towns and days in the hills.

The Property

The lounge pairs a parquet floor and exposed ceiling beams with comfortable sofas and a substantial stone fireplace. A gas wood-burner-effect fire provides a cosy focal point, while a Smart TV with Netflix offers entertainment for evenings indoors.

The kitchen includes a gas oven and hob, fridge, microwave, coffee machine and washing machine. A dining table overlooks the garden, and the rear porch provides another place to sit with a morning drink and look towards the surrounding mountains.

Upstairs, the bedroom has two single beds that can be pushed together, with windows offering sea and mountain views. The shower room contains a shower and WC.

Outside, stone steps lead to a raised, enclosed garden with views towards Conwy Bay and the hills behind the cottage. A furnished patio and charcoal barbecue provide space for outdoor meals. A lockable shed offers storage for bicycles, paddleboards or golf equipment.

Free on-street parking is available, subject to finding a space.

For the Cat

Cats are welcome.

Accessibility

The bedroom is on the first floor, reached by stairs. Stone steps lead up to the garden.

Location

The cottage is around 200 metres from a shop, 500 metres from a pub and 800 metres from the beach. Penmaenmawr offers a promenade and a sandy shoreline backed by mountains, with opportunities to explore both the coast and the uplands.

The Wales Coast Path follows this stretch of coastline, while the North Wales Path offers routes above Penmaenmawr. For a longer outing, the approximately 5½-mile Penmaenmawr Upland Walk explores the landscape above the town, with steep climbs and descents.

Conwy makes an appealing day out for its castle, medieval town walls and harbour. Further along the coast, Llandudno offers its promenade, pier and Great Orme scenery. Eryri National Park and the Isle of Anglesey provide further options for walking, sightseeing and coastal days out.
