Overview
Lancombes Farmhouse offers a spacious self-catering base in West Milton, near Bridport, for families and friends exploring West Dorset. Six bedrooms accommodate up to 12 guests, with three bathrooms and generous spaces for cooking, dining and relaxing together.
Part of a courtyard complex of converted farm buildings, the farmhouse combines character interiors with valley views and access to the Jurassic Coast.
The Property
The bedrooms comprise two king-size rooms, two doubles and two twins. Two of the three bathrooms are en suite, and there is an additional downstairs WC.
The large kitchen and adjoining dining area provide space for shared meals. Equipment includes a range-style cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer, dishwasher and filter coffee machine. In the lounge, sofas surround a stone fireplace with a wood-burning stove, with a television for evenings indoors. Central heating and Wi-Fi are provided.
Outside, the farmhouse has its own BBQ area with a gas barbecue and seating overlooking the valley towards the coast. The outdoor space is not enclosed.
Guests also have access to a shared games room with a pool table and a communal laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Allocated parking accommodates up to six cars, with additional parking available by arrangement.
Bed linen is included. Bring towels or arrange towel hire. Cots and highchairs are available on request, subject to availability; guests should bring their own cot bedding.
For the Cat
Cats are welcome, with up to two pets permitted in total. A pet supplement applies, with a weekly charge of £15 per pet.
Pets must not be left unattended in the cottage. The farmhouse outdoor space is not enclosed.
Accessibility
The approach to the farmhouse entrance slopes downhill, and there are steps up to the main door. Access to the shared laundry room includes a short section of uneven ground, while the games room has a small entrance step.
Location
The farmhouse is in West Milton, surrounded by the hills and valleys of rural West Dorset. Bridport is approximately three miles away for shops, cafés and supplies, while the Jurassic Coast is around five miles away.
West Bay offers a harbour, beach and coastal scenery, with opportunities to explore further along the South West Coast Path. Inland, the surrounding villages and countryside provide walking routes and places to stop for a meal.
Arrival involves country lanes, including single-track sections. Follow the property directions for the recommended approach.
