Wind Rose Cottage, Cowes, Isle of Wight
Overview
Wind Rose Cottage is a three-bedroom seaside retreat in Cowes on the north coast of the Isle of Wight. Sleeping up to six guests and welcoming one pet, it combines a convenient town location with a private garden and a comfortable lounge with a wood-burning stove.
Shops, restaurants, marinas and the Red Jet passenger terminal are within a few minutes’ walk, making this a practical base for exploring Cowes and enjoying time beside the Solent.
The Property
Guests have exclusive use of the cottage and garden. Inside, nautical artwork and soft coastal colours give the accommodation a seaside feel, while the lounge provides a sofa, armchairs, television and wood-burning stove for relaxed evenings indoors.
The kitchen has a cooker, fridge and generous cupboard and worktop space, together with a family dining table for shared meals. Wi-Fi, a washing machine and tumble dryer are available.
The three bedrooms are upstairs: a main bedroom with a large double bed, a second double bedroom and a twin bedroom on the second floor. Bed linen is provided. There is one bathroom with a bath and shower.
Outside, the private enclosed garden has a lawn, patio seating and a BBQ, providing space for breakfast outdoors or an evening meal after exploring the island.
For the Cat
Cats are welcome, with one pet permitted in total. Pets must weigh less than 25 kg.
Accessibility
All three bedrooms are upstairs, including the twin bedroom on the second floor. Reaching the bedrooms requires stairs.
Location
The cottage is in central Cowes, close to the town’s independent shops, cafés, restaurants and sailing facilities. The harbour is approximately six minutes away on foot, while Cowes Beach is around a 14-minute walk.
For a longer coastal outing, follow the seafront promenade past Egypt Point towards Gurnard, with views across the Solent along the way. Gurnard’s pebble-and-shingle beach, beach huts and sunset views make it a rewarding place to pause.
Across the River Medina in East Cowes, Osborne offers the chance to explore the former seaside home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, including its gardens and grounds.
